Richard L. Rose, 76, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on April 10, 2026.
Born August 15, 1949, he was the son of the late Richard K. and Claire (Shappell) Rose.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of thirty‑nine years, Edith (Hutchison) Rose, who passed away on March 21, 2015.
Richard spent many years working in the dye house of Flock Embossing in Phillipsburg. He later continued his service to the community as a bridge officer for the Delaware River Bridge Commission until his retirement.
Richard had a lifelong love of sports. He could often be found cheering on Phillipsburg High School football, baseball and wrestling. He was also an avid fan of the IronPigs, Philadelphia Phillies, and New York Yankees.
He was an avid quoits player, participating in numerous local teams throughout the Phillipsburg and Lehigh Valley area.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard L. Rose Jr., and his wife, Karen, of Harmony Township, NJ; a brother, Robert Rose, and a sister, Barbara Rose. He was preceded in death by his sister, Terry Barber.
At Richard’s request, there will be no services; a private inurnment will take place at the Greenwich Cemetery.
