Richard Schenck, Sr. Obituary

Richard Louis Schenck, Sr, 53, of Alexandria Township, NJ, died Monday, October 8, 2012 in Hunterdon Medical Center.
 

Born December 10, 1958 in Somerset, NJ, he was a son of Helen (Aftanski) Schenck of Bound Brook, NJ and the late Robert C. Schenck, Sr.

Richard was a processor for the past two years at L’Oreal, Franklin Township, NJ, and formerly was in research and development as a bench chemist for thirty-two years at Chanel, in Piscataway, NJ.

He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Pittstown, NJ.

He and his wife, the former Diane M. Henne, observed their thirtieth wedding anniversary on Valentines Day.

Richard was a devoted and loving father to his children and enjoyed camping, going to Phillies games and was a former Cub Scout leader. He also looked forward to the annual Henne family reunions that were held at various places throughout the United States. He was an avid bike racing fan at the Veledrome in Trexlertown, Pa.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons; Richard L. Schenck, Jr, Michael G., and a daughter, Kimberly J, all at home. A brother, Robert and his wife, Pamela of Spring Hill, Florida and a sister, Joyce Yannetta and her husband, Richard of Bridgewater, NJ; his mother-in-law, Josephine Henne of Piscataway, NJ and brother-in-law, George F. Henne, Jr, of Morgantown, North Carolina and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and his devoted dogs, Jake and Guinness.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., in the Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main St, Lebanon, NJ.  Services will begin 9:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 2 White Bridge Road  Pittstown, NJ. Burial will be in Lake Nelson Memorial Park,  Piscataway, NJ.
