Robert E. Jennings, Sr., 83, of Phillipsburg, died Friday, September 14, 2012 in Phillipsburg.
Born October 12, 1928, he was a son of the late Loring and Lillian Hunt Jennings.
He was a jitney driver for the former Dixie Cup in Wilson Borough for 45 years, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Phillipsburg.
Robert was a committee member of Cub Pack 51, Grace Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg from 1963 to 1967. He became a Cub Master in 1967 and continued until 1999. In April of 1992, he was awarded the George Meany Award for outstanding service to youth.
His wife, the former Arlene Stone died in 1988.
Survivors include and his companion, Marion Fredericks, of Phillipsburg; a son, Robert E. Jr., Phillipsburg; a daughter, Sharon Hardick and her husband, Dennis, of Phillipsburg; three sisters, Grace LaBar, Belfast, Pa, Mary Cummings Easton, Pa, and Ellen Hahn of Danielsville, Pa; two grandchildren, Brittney M. Hardick of Boston, Mass., and Dennis P. Hardick, Jr. of Phillipsburg. Four brothers, Loring, Jr., David, James and William; six sisters, Pauline Wolfinger, Florence Schinstine, Carrie Frankenfield, Francis Figeroa, Dorothy LaBar and Elizabeth, all died earlier.
Visitation will be held 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., Friday in the church, 255 Lincoln St., Phillipsburg. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township, Pa.
