Robert D. “Dale” Stone, Sr, of Stewartsville, NJ, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 in St. Luke’s Warren Campus, Phillipsburg, NJ.
Born April 23, 1934, he was a son of the late Hugh and Elizabeth Castner Stone.
He was the devoted husband of Ann M. (Snyder) Stone for fifty-six years. He was a metal fabricator and welder at many machinery shops in Warren and Hunterdon counties until his retirement from the Witte Company, Washington, NJ. Dale enjoyed fishing, weightlifting, treasure hunting, gardening and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Stewartsville Presbyterian Church, Stewartsville, NJ, the Stewartsville Area Seniors and served as a trustee of the Stewartsville Presbyterian Cemetery.
Dale will be lovingly remembered by his wife, son, Robert D., Jr, of Stewartsville; four daughters, Deborah Riley and Kimberly Viscomi, both of Stewartsville; Denise DeMasi of Bethlehem, Pa and Dawyne Stecker of Phillipsburg; a sister, Joyce Buckley of Baltimore, MD; fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A brother, Hugh “Pete” Stone, died earlier.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday (IN THE CHURCH) and from 10-11 a.m. Friday in the church, 550 North Main Street, Stewartsville, NJ. Funeral services will begin 11 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will follow in the Stewartsville Presbyterian Cemetery, Greenwich Street, Stewartsville, NJ.
