Samuel H. Tersigni, 55 of Alpha, NJ, formerly of Richmond, VA, Chicago, IL and St. Louis, MO, died Saturday, October 11, 2014 in St. Luke's Hospice, Bethlehem.
He was a son of Charlotte E. "Chick" (Brown) Tersigni, of Alpha, NJ and the late James C. Tersigni.
Sam graduated Phillipsburg High School in 1977. He earned Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Stephens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ and earned a PHd in Chemistry from the University of Chicago.He was a chemist for 20 years for Afton Chemical, a branch of Newmarket Corporation, both in St. Louis, MO and Richmond, VA. In 2009, he founded and was the CEO of CENT, LLC, of Bethlehem, PA.
He was a member of the American Chemical Society.Sam authored more than 50 scientific and technical articles on fuels and lubricants. He holds more than 30 US and 40 foreign patents.He was a member of the Finesville Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, Pohatcong Township, NJ.
In addition to his mother, Sam is survived by a brother, James S. Tersigni and his wife, Joanne of Phillipsburg. Nieces and nephews, Jennifer Tersigni , Jynelle Sass and her husband, Peter; Julie Fishchbach and her husband Thomas, Jamie S. Tersigni, James C. Tersigni, and a great-nephew Francis Sass.
Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m, Wednesday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ. Services will begin at 7:00 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday in St. John Orthodox Cemetery, Alpha, NJ.
