Santo A Marino

Santo A. "Sam" Marino, of Lopatcong Township, NJ, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019, surrounded by family.

 

Born August 8, 1927 in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late Alfonso Marino, Sr. and Josephine (Rumore) Marino.

 

Sam was a Technician Fourth Grade in the Army from 1945-46.

 

 

Sam was formerly employed by Reynold's Pharmacy, Phillipsburg from 1939-1971.

 

From 1971 to his retirement in 1992, Sam, along with his wife of sixty-nine years, the late Anne K. "Dolly" (Miskowski) Marino, owned and operated Phillipsburg Hardware Store on South Main Street, Phillipsburg. Dolly passed October 28, 2018.

 

Sam was a member of Ss. Philip and James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 474, Phillipsburg.

 

Sam is survived by two daughters, Denise A. Moyle and her husband, George, of New Bern, NC and Corine K. Kraemer of Bethlehem, PA; a granddaughter, Arian Wesner and her husband, Ryan and their daughter, Reagan of Bethlehem, PA; a brother, Alfonso "Al" Marino, Jr. of Lopatcong Township and a sister, Ann C. Chisesi of Easton, PA.

 

A great-grandson, Braden Paul Wesner; three brothers, Onofrio, Peter and Joseph and three sisters, Beatrice McEnroe, Nellie Piazza and Mary M. Kinsey all died earlier.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Friday in St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, 426 S. Main St, Phillipsburg. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the church. Entombment will be in Holy Apostles Mausoleum, Greenwich Township.
