Shirley Ann Pyatt, 75, of Phillipsburg, NJ, lovingly known as Mom, Nanny, Shirl and Squirrley, went to “sleep”, March 20, 2019 with her husband at her side.
Born April 1, 1943 , she was the daughter of the late Marvin Werkheiser and the late Catherine Fitch.
Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Bernard “Tonner” Pyatt and brother, Jerry Nixdorf.
Shirley leaves behind a loving husband of 57 years, Howard “Zeke” Pyatt. In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter Robyn Morgan and her husband John of Delaware and two sons, Travis Pyatt and Tracy Pyatt and his wife Stephanie, all in Phillipsburg; fifteen grandchildren, Kaela, Peyton, Tyler, Amber, Jason, Joshua, Ashley and her husband Alan, Alicia, Erin, Andrew, Orry, Aleigha, John Jr., and Gabriel; three great-grandchildren, Eyin, Austin, and Eric; sisters Annette “Jackie” (Nixdorf) Babcock, Carol (Werkheiser) Werner and Mabel Werkheiser Saylor. Shirley also leaves two very important people in her life that she loved, John and Terry Lefler.
Shirley was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School, class of 1961. Not only was she a loving wife, great mom, grandmother and great-grandmother, she formerly coached for PAL, worked at the Phillipsburg Free Press, served as a member of the Phillipsburg Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and countless other things.
Shirley was such a strong person who would do anything for anybody, and often did. She did so much, asking for nothing in return.
Visitation will be held 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S. Main Street, Phillipsburg. Services will begin at 3:00.
