A graduate of Phillipsburg High School, Sue was a member of the girl's field hockey and was named the New Jersey All-State Goalie. She spent the past three years referring girl's high school field hockey games in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Sue was very athletic and thoroughly enjoyed running. She was known for wearing out the soles of many sneakers, long before the tops ever did. Among some of her proudest accomplishments was having crossed the finish line during three New York City Marathons and several biathlons and triathlons.
