Thomas Conover Obituary

Thomas J. Conover, 74, of Phillipsburg, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in Easton Hospital.

Born August 7, 1941 in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late Harry and Frances (Korona) Conover.

He was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School, Class of 1959, where he played varsity football.

Tom was a First Class Lineman with Jersey Central Power and Light Company. He worked for 38 years before his retirement in 2002.

Tom was passionate about antiques and enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the former Valley Sportsman Association in Pohatcong Township, NJ.

He and his wife, the former Dorothy F. Lyons observed their 52nd wedding anniversary December 1, 2014.

In addition to his beloved wife, Tom is survived by his cherished family that includes a son, Jason of Palmer Township,  PA; a daughter, Stacey Jarrell of Bethlehem Township, PA; two sisters, Joan Merrick of Phillipsburg and Bernadette Atkins of Berlin, MD; four grandchildren, Logan Conover, Ashley, Rebecca and Drew Jarrell. A brother, Russell died earlier.

A celebration of Tom's life will begin 1:00 p.m., Monday, at Marianna's, 224 Stockton St. Phillipsburg, NJ. There will be no other visitation or services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be used for cardiac education sent payable to Easton Hospital Medical Staff, 250 South 21St St, Easton, PA 18042. Please note your donation is in memory of Thomas Conover when sent.
