Thomas D. Marzano, 89, of Phillipsburg, died Monday, March 7, 2011 in his home.
Born July 16, 1921 in Easton, he was a son of the late Anthony and Genevieve Vitali Marzano.
He was a graduate of Easton High School.
He was proud to have served with the Navy from 1943 to 1946 during World War Two, attaining the rank of Shipfitter Second Class.
He formerly worked as a spot welder for Follett Corporation, Forks Township, PA. He also worked as a part-time butcher for the Hudson Street Market and Cather’s Market, Phillipsburg.
Thomas was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, and was a member of their Over-Fifties Club. He was also a member of the Order of Fleas, Easton, and the Bernardine-May American Legion Post, Phillipsburg.
His wife of 43 years, the former Genevieve Papsodero died in 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan, at home; two sons, Thomas D., Jr, and his wife, Noreen, of Clinton, NJ and Timothy A. and his wife, Theresa, of Medford, NJ; two granddaughters, Marissa and Courtney Marzano and a brother, Joseph, of Easton, Pa. Two brothers, Ralph and John, and a sister, Mamie Costa died earlier.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St, Phillipsburg. Funeral services will begin 8:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 9:00 a.m., in the church, 426 South Main Street, Phillipsburg. Entombment will be in Holy Apostles Mausoleum, Greenwich Township.
