Veronica "Ronnie" Wynkoop, 75, of Phillipsburg, died peacefully Thursday, November 8, 2007 in Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg.
Ronnie worked at Warren Hospital as a unit secretary for a total of twenty years, retiring in 1995. She previously worked at Nytronics and Sheridan Printing, both in Alpha, NJ.
The youngest of nine children, Ronnie was born Christmas Day, 1931 in Phillipsburg, to the late Edward C., Sr., and Veronica McNulty Casey.
She was a member of the Phillipsburg High School Class of 1951.
A devoted member of the Catholic faith, she was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg since her Baptism.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Amercias, Court Warren 389 and was a founding member of the former Warren County Junior Catholic Daughters.
She enjoyed taking part in the many activities of the Phillipsburg Area Chapter, #4704 of A.A.R.P., and playing bingo in the Phillipsburg area, but most especially, the Phillipsburg Senior Center.
She and her husband, Ronald W. Wynkoop, Sr., were married on Valentines Day, 1953.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Ronald W. Jr., of Merritt Island, Florida and Timothy E. and his wife, Lisa, of Phillipsburg; three daughters, Karen W. Kelly and her husband, Donald E. Jr., of Lopatcong Township; Dianne L. Vevasis and her husband Ray, of Shenandoah, Pa, and Michelle Craig of Naples, Florida; a sister, Margaret Salitz of New Brunswick, NJ; ten grandchildren, Ronald W., III, Christopher, Rebekah, Juliana, Abby, and Owen Wynkoop, Jacob Tyler Vevasis, Bridget E. Kelly, Alexzandria James, KD Lorraine Richardson; two step-grandchildren, Kelly Berry and Nicholas Vevasis; four great grandchildren, Jayce, Nathan, Jocelyn and Lita Wynkoop. Among her many nieces and nephews, Ronnie would want it to be remembered that her niece, Elizabeth "Betsy" Casey Dicker had a special place in her heart, having been raised with her in the Casey family home.
She was pre-deceased by six brothers, Edward C. Jr., Charles E., Leo P., Robert J., Sr., John "Jackie" and William J. and a sister, Mary C. Ward.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday in the Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in Greenwich Cemetery, Greenwich Township. Visitation will be held Sunday from Noon until 6:00 p.m. in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg. Online condolences may be submitted by visiting www.noto-wynkoop.com.
Red was always Ronnie's favorite color, and in her honor, her family asks those attending the visitation or services to consider wearing something Red! She would appreciate it.
