Walter C. Taylor, Jr, 89, of Gracedale, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, died January 1, 2015.
Born November 5, 1925 in Alpha, NJ, he was a son of the late Walter C. Taylor, Sr. and Anna Holodnak.
He graduated Phillipsburg High School in 1943.
He was a Merchant Marine during World War Two.
He was a machinist at Ingersoll-Rand, Turbo Division, Phillipsburg for 40 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of AARP, Phillipsburg chapter and was a long-time Phillies fan.
He and his wife, the former Arlene Moore observed their 67th wedding anniversary October 25, 2014.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert and his wife, Mary, of Easton; two daughters, Cynthia Psaras and her husband, Dimitri of Bound Brook, NJ and Carol Estrella and her husband, Javier of Germansville, PA; two sisters, Marge Rossnagle of Lower Nazareth Township, PA and Shirley Horn of Daytona Beach, FL; seven grandchildren, Christopher and Amanda Taylor, Zachary and Catherine Psaras, Jenna Wisser and her husband, Cameron, Mallorie Faubert and Brandon Estrella; two great-grandchildren, Adam Taylor and Riley Mae Wisser and two step-grandchildren, Jonathan and Shanellie Estrella. A brother, Donald and two sisters, Anna Stana and Winifred "Winnie" Statler all died earlier.
A luncheon and a service of remembrance will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday at Flynn's on the Hill, 341 Pursel Street, Phillipsburg. Online condolences may be submitted by visiting www.noto-wynkoop.com.
