Winifred M. "Winnie" Statler, 81 of Easton, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in St. Luke's Hospice, Lower Saucon Township, Pa.
Born March 6, 1931 in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Walter C. and Anna Holodnak Taylor, Sr.
She graduated Phillipsburg High School.
She was a former baker for the Easton Area School District and in earlier years, worked at the Surprise Store and Carmelcorn Shop in Easton, as well Tom Young's Drug Store.
She was a member of the First Moravian Church, Easton. She was involved in the Anna Nitschman Guild, Sacristans, AARP, card club and enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles. She lived for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Winnie and her husband, Edward M. Statler, Sr., observed their sixty-second wedding anniversary, July 9th.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Edward M, Jr., of Nazareth; three daughters, Laurie Bullock, and her husband, William, of Phillipsburg, Diane Kohler and her husband "Skip" of Bangor and Karen Border and her husband Dave of Easton; a brother, Walter C. Taylor, Jr. and his wife Arlene of Easton; a sister, Margaret Rossnagle of Lower Nazareth Township, Pa, and a sister Shirley Horn of Daytona FL; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A brother, Donald and a sister, Anna Stana died earlier.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday in the church, 225 North 10th Street, Easton, Pa.. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St, Phillipsburg.
